Who Are We?

The Elland Academy is an Alternative Provision Free School catering for schools and academies across Leeds, Wakefield and Kirklees. At the Elland, the child is at the centre of everything we do. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that supports the various needs of the learners that come to us. Our learning is personalised to match student need and is supported by a highly qualified and experienced team of staff to educate learners aged 8-16 years. Our academy is a welcoming, safe and caring environment that successfully nurtures the needs of every member of its community.

We aim to support our students to feel valued and enable them to make positive choices regarding their learning and interactions with others. We are driven by our values of respect for all, high aspirations and providing positive experiences to ensure success. We prepare them to transition into the community as responsible members of society. We believe all students can achieve.

This year 93.3% of students have achieved 5 or more qualifications to place them in an excellent position moving forward into their chosen pathways. 100% of pupils gained at least one GCSE and 100% left with an appropriate outcome in English and Maths to help them progress on to their next steps in education. 63% achieved 8 or more qualifications at any level. 53% of pupils achieved 5 or more qualifications at level 1 which compares favourably with National Alternative Providers. 83% of students left with an outcome in English, Maths and science.
