Our Year 10 students were invited to attend Leeds City College printworks campus in order to have an experience of the courses that are on offer at Leeds City College.
Our first session was to experience a taster session in Public Services, our students were fully engaged in learning how to put somebody in handcuffs- including Mr Nichols! During the session students were able to ask questions about life in the armed forces and what qualifications are needed to work in the different public services.
After a break in the college canteen we moved on to the professional kitchen and met Chef Roger who would guide the students through the experience of making pasta al forno. Once again The Elland students shone, listening attentively whilst they were taught how to finely chop onion and garlic. The students were able to take their tasty food back with them back to the academy to eat- it was delicious!
The students were all talking about where they plan to go to college and what courses they plan to follow, the taster sessions were a hit.
